New York, NY February 14, Animated South African/American indie pop artist Vian Izak was named as a Nominee in The 16th annual Independent Music Awards (The IMAs), the influential honors for independent artists and releases. More than 400 innovative self-released and indie label projects culled from thousands of submissions worldwide, were nominated by industry panelists in 96 Album, Song, EP, Music Producer, Music Video and Design categories. 

Nominated for Best Adult Contemporary song for his song ”Starlit Summer’s Eve,” Izak is honored and excited as the song is the first single off of his forthcoming record “Northern Anthems.” The album is a culmination of an exclusive campaign with Spotify in where Izak released a monthly web comic and EP exclusively to Spotify fans. The album will include a full color printed version of the comic. Vian Izak has received millions of streams online on the project already and been featured on dozens of official playlists.

The winning projects will be selected by judging panels of top recording artists including: Tom Waits, Slayer, Bakithi Kumalo, Michael W. Smith, Sepultura, Amy Lee [Evanescence] among many others; and influential press and talent buyers from the Americas, Europe and Pacific Rim.
